Due to its sling binder detached, a trailer truck B 9890 TYT transporting bored piles weighed 15 tons tumbled on Jalan Terusan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Friday (8/15), at around 11.30 AM. There is no casualty in this incident that causes severe traffic congestion starting from Pondok Kopi towards Bintara and at Bintara Toll gate.
The truck lost its balance, so it tumbled and the bored piles fell
Based on the information gathered, the truck was heading from Pulogadung towards Bekasi. When arrived on Jalan Terusan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, which is slightly uphill and has sharp bend, the truck’s sling binder detached. As a result, the truck was shaky before finally tumbled.
Rokhim (22), the truck conductor, explained that Rogol (30), the truck driver, was running the truck slowly. But since the road is uphill and bending, the truck’s sling binder became detached. After that, the bored piles were shifting, thus making the truck tumbled.
“The truck lost its balance, so it tumbled and the bored piles fell,” he told.
Besides bored piles fell off the truck, the diesel fuel from the truck’s tank was also spilled out and made the road slippery. As a result, traffic congestion became more severe because the motorists had to pass the location slowly. To prevent unwanted things, local residents sprinkled the sand and soil onto the diesel fuel spills.
“To parse the congestion, the traffic from Pondok Kopi towards Bintara toll gate had to be diverted. Motorists had to walk straight first to Bekasi direction and spin around in front of the market then return towards the toll gate,” stated Duren Sawit Metro Sector Police Traffic Unit Chief AKP Albon Hutabalian.
